The aim of this work is to present a process able to allow a fast method to clean plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) systems used to produce amorphous silicon films and their alloys, and a proper device patterning when required. In this work we propose to study CF4/O2 or SF6 as etchant gases at room temperature to perform cleaning and films patterning. The aim is to select the process that leads to a faster cleaning process without formation of residual contaminants or to anisotropic patterning of very thin layers. The influence of some plasma parameters, such as pressure (p), power (P) and flow (f) for the etchant gases used will be also analysed.

"A Study of the Thermal Decomposition of 2-Azidoacetamide by Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy and Matrix-Isolation Infrared Spectroscopy:  Identification of the Imine Intermediate H2NCOCHNH." The Journal of Physical Chemistry A. 108 (2004): 5299-5307. AbstractWebsite

The thermal decomposition of 2-azidoacetamide (N3CH2CONH2) has been studied by matrix-isolation infrared spectroscopy and real-time ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. N2, CH2NH, HNCO, CO, NH3, and HCN are observed as high-temperature decomposition products, while at lower temperatures, the novel imine intermediate H2NCOCHNH is observed in the matrix-isolation IR experiments. The identity of this intermediate is confirmed both by ab initio molecular orbital calculations of its IR spectrum and by the temperature dependence and distribution of products in the photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) and IR studies. Mechanisms are proposed for the formation and decomposition of the intermediate consistent both with the observed results and with estimated activation energies based on pathway calculations.

We present a systematic study of atomic binding energies, in the Dirac–Fock approximation, for the Lithium (3 electrons) to the Dubnium (105 electrons) isoelectronic series. In each series we have considered all atomic numbers from the one corresponding to the neutral atom up to Z=118. We have obtained the ground state configurations for several heavy ions with charge larger than one.

The present study reports low velocity impact tests on composite laminate plates reinforced either with Kevlar 29 or Dyneema. The tests are produced using a Rosand Precision Impact tester. The experimental results obtained for Kevlar 29 are simulated numerically. The deflection history and the peak of the impact force are compared with experimental data and used to calibrate the numerical model.

Silva, M. A. G., C. Cismaşiu, and C. G. Chiorean. "Ballistic Simulation of Impact on Composite Laminates." Proceedings of the International Conference Constructions 2003. Vol. 2. Cluj-Napoca, Romania: The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, 2003. 139-146. Abstract

The paper reports on numerical simulation of impact problems on fiber reinforced plastic composite laminated plates reinforced with Kevlar 29. The ballistic impact caused by STANAG-2920 projectile is analyzed to obtain an estimate for the V50 and the global damage. All estimate have been carried out using the finite difference numerical code AUTODYN-3D, are compared with the experimental data to illustrate the performance of the simulation. Good correlation between resulting simulations and experimental results is demonstrated both in terms of deformation and damage of the laminates and ballistic performance.
