Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus - 5th Edition - 2022

We are looking for a PALEONTOLOGISTS AND SEDIMENTOLOGISTS

and any other Earth Sciences topic that complement our research team: paleobotany, sedimentology, invertebrate paleontology, vertebrate paleo-histology, paleoichthyologists, ichnologist, etc.

for advanced researchers via a competitive call at FCT funding agency, the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus, for research contract up to six-years.

The host institution is GEOBIOTEC: GeoBioSciences, GeoTechnologies and GeoEngineering (Geobiociências, Geoengenharias e Geotecnologias), which is the research center of the Department of Earth Sciences of the NOVA University of Lisbon.

The Individual Call is aimed at PhD holders of any nationality or stateless with a background in any scientific area who wish to develop their scientific research or technological development activity in Portugal, integrated into R&D units funded by FCT.

Applicants should indicate the host institution where they will develop their research plan. The selected doctorates are directly hired by the identified host institution, through FCT funding.

Applications are submitted electronically, in English, through the electronic platform to be made available in due course.

1) Think, design and write a very good scientific project. Having a Portuguese component is always important.

COMPONENTS OF THE APPLICATION
Applications are submitted online via a dedicated FCT web application.
The application comprises the following parts to be evaluated:

a) Research plan, including a rigorous selection of the main activities to be developed.
b) Synopsis of the scientific and curricular path, highlighting the main activities and results obtained in the last 5 years;
c) Curriculum vitae;
d) Motivation letter, identifying up to two main contributions of the candidate in the last 5 years and the expected main contributions for the next years;
e) Synopsis of the host conditions and description of the integration of the proposed research plan into the strategy of the associated research unit. The host institution is the GeoBioTec, GeoBioSciences, GeoTechnologies and GeoEngineering (see doc with description).

The CV of the applicants used for the evaluation will be exclusively obtained through this platform.

3) Uploaded the project at MyFCT website - https://myfct.fct.pt/. The Host institution is GeoBioTec.

Duration: The duration is up to 6 year according to article 24 of Regulamento deEmprego Científico.
