The Protein Data Bank (PDB) is an open access resource for the collection, organisation and dissemination of data on biological macromolecular structures.

Since 1998, I have co-authored regular PDB entries, mostly resultant from X-ray diffraction from single crystals of proteins, but also NMR and cryoEM.

Along with the atomic coordinates, the entries of crystal structures also include the observed structure factors (the intensities measured by diffraction), permitting the calculation, visualization and analysis of the electron density surrounding the atoms that compose the macromolecular structures.
