Description

The project follows the evidence basis strand of the call for proposal. It aims to analyse the impact of the COVID19 on the process of the posting of workers in the manufacturing sector. The proposal has 2 dimensions: first, to observe and research the characteristics of posting of workers in the manufacturing sector during the pandemic, identifying the main challenges faced by the Member States, EU institutions and stakeholders in the manufacturing sector (as one of the biggest sectors of sending and receiving posted workers) and the second, to prepare the scenarios of how the posting process will be developed in the manufacturing sector. Project-specific objectives are: (1) To research and analyse the state of arts and current challenges of the posted workers during the COVID19 pandemic via mapping and observing findings of the pandemic impact on the posted workers’ conditions and posting process in the manufacturing sector, (2) To gather evidence and improve the understanding of the posted workers’ and employers challenges during the pandemic and verify to which extent the pandemic undermined the processes of posting of workers and the freedom to provide services within EU, (3) To build evidence basis and create the post-Covid-19 foreseen scenarios in the field of posting of workers in the manufacturing sector. The project involves the EU MS and candidate countries. The net sending countries are represented by Poland, Bulgaria, Portugal and Slovakia, while net hosting countries are represented by Denmark and Greece. The project consortium engages different stakeholders: trade unions from Serbia, Poland, Bulgaria, employers organisations from Slovakia, CSOs from Bulgaria and Greece, International NGO from Denmark, Universities and research centres from Portugal and Greece. The project will last for 18 months and it focuses on research and analytical activities: focus group seminars, online surveys, in-depth interviews, gathering cases studies, etc.
