Comportamento da Ligação Pilar-Fundação em Estruturas Pré-Fabricadas com Armaduras Salientes do Pilar

The precast as a construction technique, has been increasingly used. Among advantages the precast construction with regard to cast in place construction as: the lower cost, reduction of time on site, the need less workers and less equipment.

The column-foundation connection plays a key role on the behavior of precast concrete  structures, especially in the presence of horizontal actions, like earthquake and wind. One of the most used column-foundation connection systems in precast concrete structures consists on leaving on the lower end of the column protruding rebars that are introduced in negatives left in the foundation.
These negatives are, later on, injected with grout to anchor the rebars.
The present dissertation focuses mainly this type of connection. Different types of ancorages were studied for the connection of the column reinforcement to the foundation, by means of monotonic and cyclic tests to analyze their behavior.
In the dissertation some column-foundation connection types are presented. Design equations from various authors are present too.
The results from the tests are analyzed according to their mechanisms of resistance and analogies are established between the results obtained.
This dissertation discusses and presents conclusions about the performance of the studied connections.
