KARL - Künstliche Intelligenz für Arbeit und Lernen in der Region Karlsruhe

The goal of the project network KARL (Artificial Intelligence for Working and Learning in the Karlsruhe Region) is to establish a competence center in the Karlsruhe region that develops human-centered, transparent, and learning-friendly AI-supported working and learning systems (KI-WLS) and transfers them into concrete practical applications. AI is expected to play an important role in almost all industries and sectors in the long run, combining the advantages of human and artificial intelligence. This socio-technical synthesis is supposed to be profitably used in a variety of areas. The Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion is characterized by economic strength and scientific expertise in the following application domains: (1) mobility and autonomous driving, (2) knowledge-intensive services and ICT systems, (3) manufacturing, and (4) education.
