Bio

Susana Duarte holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, NOVA School of Science and Technology, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA FCT), Portugal. She lectures several courses on topics related to industrial engineering including production management, industrial strategy and management, Industrial engineering, Logistics, and Lean six sigma, among others. She is a research member of the Research and Development Unit for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (UNIDEMI) where she develops their investigation in lean thinking, green management, their integration on supply chain management, business sustainability, performance measurement systems, and Industry 4.0. She made part of the research team of the project entitled "Lean, Agile, Resilient and Green Supply Chain Management" and she has published scientific papers in international journals and conference proceedings. She was awarded the Outstanding Paper Award (Awards for Excellence) from Emerald Group Publishing, three paper awards from International Conferences, a Teaching Excellence Award, and a Woman in Industry and Academia Award from IEOM Society. She is a member of the board of the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Engineering.
