Ana Luísa Custódio is an Associate Professor with tenure at the Department of Mathematics of NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT) and a researcher at the Center for Mathematics and Applications (NOVA Math), where she is a member of the Operations Research Group. She holds a PhD in Mathematics from NOVA FCT, an MSc in Operations Research and Systems Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, and a BSc in Mathematics from NOVA FCT.

Her research focuses on Nonlinear Optimization, with particular emphasis on Derivative-Free Optimization, Multiobjective Optimization, and Global Optimization. She is co-author of several state-of-the-art computational solvers, contributing to the dissemination of optimization methods in both academic and applied contexts.

She served as Director of NOVA Math from 2022 to 2026 and has held several academic management positions, including membership of the School Council and the Scientific Council of NOVA FCT. She has also served on the boards of the Portuguese Association of Operations Research and the Center for International Mathematics. Currently, she is an Associate Editor of Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications and Optimization Methods and Software, Secretary of the SIAM Activity Group on Optimization, and a member of the Council of the Department of Mathematics of NOVA FCT.
