The European Manufacturing Survey (EMS) has been organised by a consortium of research institutes and universities from and across Europe since 2001. On company level, EMS surveys the utilisation of techno-organisational innovations in manufacturing and the thereby achievable performance increases in the manufacturing sector. The latest survey EMS in 2009 was carried out successfully in 10 countries. As yet, data from four survey rounds is available. Currently the preparation of European Manufacturing Survey 2012 is under way in 21 countries, including PORTUGAL.
