Do you want to join our team?

We look for volunteers, students, and colleagues for cooperations and partnership willing to help to understand the dinosaurs and vertebrate paleontology.

Volunteer

We have offer a volunteer program with lab and field work:

Public target: anyone over the age of 16 can apply to be a volunteer.

Tasks: The tasks will be distributed a agreed according to the interests and skills of the volunteer and our work needs. Typically, volunteers join the laboratory at Museu da Lourinhã or Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and often join for dinosaur and other vertebrates paleontology work in Portugal.

Along the year:    Volunteer work is open mostly all year (with some field work and smaller excavations). Weekend fieldtrips or along the year we receive volunteers from all over Europe, for a few days, weeks or months of laboratory experience and some field work. The duration and style depends on each person. We try to provide lodging but this is seen case-by-case. We aim to creates great long-term scientific and friendship bonds between us and volunteers.  There is no limits of the duration of the stay: volunteers can stay just a couple of days to several months.

Summer excavations:  The main field season and larger excavations are during the summer. The Summer excavations (between June and August) are field excavations concentrated in the summertime. Aimed for our team, professional colleagues, paleo students and previous volunteers.

The application system is very simple: email with attached CV, telling the preferred dates, duration, and tasks/topics (if applicable). Write us to omateus @fct.unl . pt
