João Lourenço (http://docentes.fct.unl.pt/joao-lourenco/) received his doctoral degree in 2004 from the NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal, where he holds a position as Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department. He is a member of the advisory board and steering committees of several International Conferences and Research Networks. He is a founding member of the NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics (NOVA LINCS) and his primary research interests include in-memory data management for parallel and large-scale computing systems, and static and dynamic analysis of concurrent programs. He is co-author of more than 50 articles/papers, and received a Distinguished Paper Award in Euro-Par 2012 and the Best paper Award in HVC 2012. He is the author of the popular LaTeX thesis template "unlthesis" (https://github.com/joaomlourenco/unlthesis/).
