M is determined by a full quantum-mechanical calculation but the peaks are identified with the periods of the shortest periodicorbits of the corresponding classical system. Qualitative agreement is obtained with experimental results, however, discrepancies are found in the relative heights ofthe peaks.&lt;/p&gt;
