Metal Forming Technologies

Semester:
Fall
Offered:
2015

The syllabus covers a wide range of metallic materials shaping technologies, in order to support the main objectives of the curricular unit:

- understanding constraints placed by the material’s structure-properties relationships upon the processing conditions prevailing in each type of process.

The topics presented support the students on performing laboratorial work going from simple shaping experiments (casting, plastic deformation or material removal under controlled conditions) to the structural characterization of the processed materials.
