Bio

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at NOVA School of Science and Technology  (NOVA-SST) and also a member of the Centro de Matemática e Aplicações (CMA) at NOVA-SST. In 2008 I completed my PhD in Mathematics, speciality of Statistics at NOVA-SST, with the work entitled "Brownian motion with drift threshold model". My main research interests are within the areas of Statistics of Stochastic Processes, Stochastic Differential Equations and Financial Mathematics, with several papers published in this areas. In more recent years, I have been involved in several Mathematics outreach initiatives among younger and pre-university students, being a member of ClubeMath and leading courses/projects in MatNova, Ciência Viva and MathIngenious.
