I'm Assistant Professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Department of Informatics, and a member of the research center NOVA/LINCS.
My research is on Software Engineering (SE), with a particular focus on software modularity.
In the past, I worked of the topic of crosscutting concerns and aspect-oriented software development.
Currently, I'm studying modularity in Matlab/Octave systems and the symptoms that arise when there are limitations on the modularity of such systems. Ongoing work covers modularity and concern metrics, (semi-)automatic discovery of unmodularized concerns (a.k.a. aspect mining).
